Overview

Malouf is seeking an jr. interior designer to add to their growing in-house creative team. Designers are expected to have an advanced understanding of design principles and execute good work ethic, time management, report to the Senior Designer, and receive criticism & feedback with a positive attitude. Personal problem-solving, initiative-taking, ownership, and collaborative mindset are key to being success at Malouf. A large portion of designer’s responsibilities are: assist in every step of the start-to-finish lifecycle of commercial building planning, sourcing and ordering product and material, following up on orders, schedule deliveries, coordinate installations, floor plan and elevation drawings for contractors and traveling to industry tradeshows to source products for projects. Consistent follow up on each project thoroughly, and helping from beginning to end of installations. The Malouf atmosphere is goal-driven and requires a personality that takes ownership of the quality, accuracy and knowledge to execute their tasks at an elevated level & able to grow and move with a fast-growing company. This includes communicating with other departments, understanding expectations and managing the time of their work appropriate to the value of the task.

What we’d like to see:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design.
  • 1-2 years of commercial design experience.
  • You should consider the Adobe Creative Suite to be something like family.
  • A solid understanding of Revit, AutoCAD and Google Sketch up.
  • A thorough knowledge of space planning.
  • “Detail oriented” should be your middle name.
  • Time management and project projection is a skill you need an understanding of.
  • Strong communication skills and experience consulting directly with contractors, other departments and fellow team members.
  • A great multi-tasker and completing jobs to the end.
  • The confidence and skill to communicate your ideas clearly.
  • Strong leadership ability and self-motivation.
  • The ability to work as a team.
  • Willing to travel.
  • A great attitude - no egos here, please.
  • The Commitment:

    This is a full-time position salary based on the experience that you bring to the company and we’re looking for around 40 hr/week minimum commitment. This position also involves traveling.
